Built as a multi-generational family home, the villa has been lovingly crafted and designed by an award-winning Balinese architect to provide an oasis of calm. Shanti is the perfect name for this one-of-a-kind, seven-bedroom villa, set in the gentle hills of Nusa Dua in southernmost Bali, thirty minutes from the airport. It means peace in Sanskrit, which suits the serene hilltop sea view setting, and reflects the harmony between contemporary design and traditional heritage that is the hallmark of Popo Danes, its famed Balinese architect. You can now enjoy the experience of staying at this exclusive residence the next time you’re in Bali.
At the villa’s social heart, you will find the showstopping, stately living pavilion. Dining under the ornate chandelier hanging from the soaring vaulted roof on a royal wooden table by Ibu Melati for fifteen makes every mealtime a special occasion. Add to that, the delicious food cooked by the private chef, and this may just become your favourite part of the villa. Oriental carpets spread on the living room’s polished black terrazo floors lead onto a 16-metre infinity pool facing the ocean beyond the trees.
This awe-inspiring sense of space continues in the seven large suites spread across three-bedroom pavilions flanking the main house, overlooking the sprawling grounds and the ocean beyond. Four-bedroom suites have their own private plunge pool and relaxation balé, making it the perfect choice for large groups who would like to gather together in the evening but will also appreciate their own personal space to retreat to.
Your experience will be enriched by the welcoming villa staff who relish helping every guest make the most of their stay. The Shanti Residence is particularly suited for large family gatherings or reunions. It Is also a spectacular venue for special celebrations and weddings.
Hard though it may be, to leave this alluring private residence, the gravitational pull of Bali’s most beautiful white beaches, and all the attractions of the Nusa Dua resort enclave a short drive away, may prove irresistible. You can reach one of Bali’s finest beaches, the white sand Geger Beach within minutes. Bali National Golf Resort is also nearby for a game of golf. The Elite Concierge can arrange a luxury car and driver on request (extra charge) for you to venture out. Dining
One of the many pleasures of holidaying in a villa is having full control of what you eat and when, without lifting a finger — and without making reservations or queueing up in busy hotel restaurants. Instead, gather your family and friends around a beautifully laid table for leisurely meals prepared by our accomplished resident chefs, and served family-style at a time of your choosing.
Perhaps a colourful medley of tropical fruit will kickstart your day, followed by toast and conserves or eggs cooked just how you like them. Then a light lunch by the pool and, in the evening, a slap-up meal of western or specialist Indonesian dishes served in the formal dining room. And in between, let them serve freshly prepared juices or a cold beer.
Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus 20%++ handling fee. Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it is a good idea to plan meals the evening before.
Of course, if you feel like exploring Bali’s exciting dining scene, there is an excellent choice of cafes and restaurants covering all budgets in Nusa Dua, a short car ride away.
